More tweaks to the site

This week I’ve been updating content and tweaking the new web site.  I have the forums working now, so feel free to join them and contribute as you see fit.  I’ve also moved the free download formats of both novels to their respective new home pages.  The next big task is to move all the pictures on the JJMysteries Ning site over to a Flickr Group so I can display them on the novel home page.  I have already done this on the Starstrikers page.

The Flickr groups are open so that anyone can add to them.  The most common use for this will be to add a picture of yourself with a copy of my book.  Another use is to take pictures of actual places mentioned in the Mystery novels so that other readers who do not live in Idaho, can see how cool our state is. ;-)

The last big technical hurdle is to move the database of my Galaxy Collision Series Wiki over to the new domain.  I have the new Wiki set up, I just need to transfer the pages and the pictures.  The reason for the Wiki is to help readers become familiar with that universe.  I also use it to keep everything straight in my own mind when writing novels set in that universe.

I’ve had several favorable comments on the look and feel of the new site so I guess we’ll keep it.

More Site Updates and Additions

This is turning out to be the week of website updates.  Last night I installed the MediaWiki software and did tons of content updates to the main site.  You should be able to navigate around and find some of my work, from novels to short stories, all broken into three major categories – Fiction, Joshua Jones Mysteries and Galaxy Collision Series.

Things left to do yet, before I can stop messing and get back to writing:  Import the GC Series Wiki, devise way to offer novels in various formats without making the page busy, and integrating the forums better.  I can’t say I will accomplish any of these tasks before next year, but that is the goal.

The rest of this holiday week is being dedicated to writing several new opening chapters for the Tyrmia Second Draft.  With luck, I should have that done by early December and get it out to my Beta Readers.
