I don’t care what Linus says, I love Gnome!  I’ve tried KDE, many, many times and I still come back to Gnome.

  I think you should use whichever you are most comfortable with.  I’m a little nervous about combining the two major Linux desktops into one half-breed.

  I recall Red Hat caught all kinds of flak for even maching themes between the two.  It’s a little odd that the leading Linux Distro is Ubuntu – a Gnome distro, and the leading Linux desktop is KDE.

I think as long as I have a choice, that’s what is important.  Besides, on lean, old CPU’s I like to use a light-wieght desktop like Fluxbox.
