Building the main antenna for the back of the ship was pretty straight forward. I used interlocking pieces of Palustric square pipes and some round pipes for the antenna grid or mesh. After it was glued up, I then detailed the edges with some finer greeblies.

Here we see the center mount section under construction.

Liberal use of 1, 2, 3 blocks for ensuring the frame is straight while the glue dries.

Test fitting the frame to the hull with a mount. It’s not moveable or motorized or anything fancy like that. That round greeblie it sits on is a CPU cooling fan shroud.

The finished antenna with some greeblies added for interest.
The next step was to build the framework of panels over the flight deck. This was done with more plastic strips and then some of the presumably glass panels were covered in styrene for variation.

Nothing fancy here. Just making sure they look somewhat evenly spaced.

I added some solid panels and a few greeblies for interest again.

Some finer details added to the bow. Next step was to cover the already painted deck and then apply more primer to the newly added pieces.

Here it is on the front drive getting primer. I was able to catch a warmer day to help the drying.
The next step is to do the weathering. Stay tuned for the finale in Part 6.
