Ubuntu Nicities

This week we have some links to programs that make customizing Ubuntu a snap.  The basic Ubuntu install gives you a fully functional Linux system.  However, Linux is all about options.  If you want a more multimedia experience, these links will help you install the added bling you are looking for.

This blog article offers a way to upgrade to some packages manually.  LinuxMint is another package for adding non-free programs to Ubuntu.  If you want the ultimate in Geek interfaces, you should consider installing Beryl, the 3D desktop for *nix.

It’s great to see all these new references for Ubuntu converts.  If you are leaving the Microsoft mess and coming over to the smart side, welcome!  Tell your friends to join us.  While your at it, head over to Dell and make your wishes for OEM Linux heard.  They’re listening.
