About Me
I’m a writer of Speculative Fiction and Mystery novels and short stories. I work as a software build engineer and write fiction in my spare time. I’ve maintained a blog about writing and technology since 1998.
I try and post at least twice a week, sometimes more often. Topics range from my thoughts on fiction writing to programming with a bit of my personal life tossed in for good measure. You can subscribe to my RSS feed from the icon on the right side of the header.
There are forums on this site dedicated to my novels and other writings. If you are a fan of my books you can learn more about them and find out what I’m working on at any given time.
Unlike most computer geeks, I actually enjoy watching baseball and football. I have been a Cubs fan (Go Cubs!) since the 1980′s and a Boise State Football fan (Go Broncos!) for the past decade or so. My kids both play baseball (Go Beavers!) and my oldest is now playing football (Go Titans!).
I’m currently Vice President of Partner’s In Crime, the Sisters In Crime chapter in Boise. I’m also on the board of The Popular Fiction Association of Idaho, and a member of the Speculative Fiction Writers Group in Boise.
I subscribe to three paper magazines, Wired, Linux Journal and The Planetary Report. I read e-books, paper books, newspapers, blogs and sometimes a comic book. My favorite genres are SF and Mystery. I also read non-fiction science books.
I use Linux or Mac at home and Windows and Linux at work. I’m a huge supporter and user of Open Source and Free Software. My favorite movie is Star Wars IV and my favorite color is blue. I don’t talk much about politics or religion on the blog, but you can assume that I’m an independent voter with strong, skeptical inclinations.
